Highlanders beat Bengals in México

The NJIT Highlanders defeated the Idaho State Bengals, 71-67, at Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Riviera Maya, México.

The Highlanders improved to .500 with the win, as they improved to 3-3. They went 1-1 in the tournament, as they lost 74-53 to the Georgia State Panthers on Tues.

The Bengals fell to 0-5.

Damon Lynn led the Highlanders with 24 points. Tim Coleman added 21, while Rob Ukawba had 12. Fellow starters Osa Izevbowa and Abdul Lewis combined for 11 points.

They only had three points off the bench. All of those points came by Chris Jenkins.

Brandon Boyd led the Bengals with 26 points. Geno Luzcando also had double-figures, as he had 13 points. Fellow starters Robert Jones III, Gary Chivichyan and Novak Topalovic combined for 25 points.

Like the Highlanders, the Bengals had limited bench production. They had five bench points, which all came from Hayes Garrity.
