According to a report, the Washington Redskins are willing to franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins. It would be the second straight year that they’ve done this.
According to TheMMQB.com‘s Albert Breer says the team won’t franchise him again. However, CBSSports.com‘s Jason La Canfora says they will, so we’ll see who is right in a few months.
Cousins is making $19.9 million this season on the franchise tender. He’ll make $23.94 million next season should they tag him again.

The team would like to re-sign him to a new contract that is cap friendly. Using another franchise tag on Cousins may not be cap friendly.
He would like to get Andrew Luck money. He signed a five-year, $122.97 million deal with the Indianapolis Colts. He has an average annual salary of $24.5 million.
The 28-year-old has played in 10 games this season. He has 3,091 yards with 17 touchdowns and seven interception.
He has thrown for more than 300 yards five times this year.
