A plane carrying a Brazilian soccer team has reportedly crashed in Columbia. The plane had 72 passengers with nine crew members, including the Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, commonly known as Chapecoense soccer team, according to the initial reports.
The plane — LaMia Airlines Flight 2933 — left Bolivia and was expected to go to Medelin, Columbia, where the soccer team had a Copa Sudamerica Finals against Atlético Nacional scheduled. It’s not clear what will happen with this game now.
According to José María Córdova International Airport’s Twitter account, the plane crashed at an undisclosed location. There are survivors but not many, the early reports indicate.

In regards to these reports, one must understand that this is a breaking news story and the information is subject to change.
According to Yahoo Sports, they were 13-11-13 this season. They last played on Nov. 27 when they lost 1-0 to Palmeiras.
The team has been around 43 years, as it was founded on May 10, 1973.
Marcelo Boeck and William Bergamin were their goaltenders, according to their website. Rafael Lima, Neto, Cláudio Winck, Emerson and Alan Ruschel were the defenders. The midfielders and forwards included Lourency, Hyoran, Moisés, Pedro Perotti, Neném, Lucas Mineiro, Guilherme Lima and Alejandro Martinuccio.

Wink and Ruschel were on loan to the team from Internacional. It’s not clear if all of these players were on the plane when it crashed.
