New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady picked up his 201st win of his career, including the playoffs. Brady led his team to a 26-10 win over the Los Angeles Rams at Gillette Stadium.
Brady surpassed Peyton Manning, who retired with 200 when he stepped away earlier this year after winning Super Bowl 50 with the Denver Broncos over the Carolina Panthers. Manning also played for the Indianapolis Colts in his career.
He could have already clinched this earlier this year if he didn’t miss the first four games of the season. He dropped his battle with the National Football League over DeFlategate, which happened years ago.

“I’m grateful for all of my teammates and my coaches and for my family and friends,” Brady said. “There’s been a lot of great football over the years, so it’s always been about winning and I’ve been very fortunate to be on a lot of great teams. I just feel very grateful.”
With the win, he now has 179 regular season wins. In addition, he has had 22 playoff wins.
Manning, the man he surpassed, had 186 wins in the regular season. And then an additional 14 wins in the playoffs.
Despite the big win for his career, Brady deflected the accomplishment.
“It’s a team sport. Individual awards and things like that mean that I’ve been a part of great teams with great coaches and great teammates,” he said after winning No. 200 last Sunday. “I’ve had a lot of really great support over the years, so hopefully we can keep winning. It never gets old.”

In his career, Brady has had 50 wins with either the Patriots losing or tied in the fourth quarter. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said it’s the situational plays that make a difference.
“Situational plays that don’t show up in the stat sheet are plays that you need for your team to win and Tom does a great job of that,” he said. “He’s as good a situational football player as I’ve ever coached.”
