Bowl preview: #16 West Virginia @ Miami (Fla.)

On Wednesday night, #16 West Virginia Mountaineers faces the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes in the Russell Athletic Bowl at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. The game will be on ESPN at 5:30 pm EST.

The Mountaineers are 10-2, while the Hurricanes are 8-4. West Virginia is 4-1 on the road, while Miami is 4-2.

These two teams haven’t faces each other since Oct. 2, 2003. In this particular game, the Hurricanes won 22-20.

Miami (Fla.) has won the past six meetings. West Virginia hasn’t won in this series since Sept. 27, 1997 when they won 28-17.

In the past 10 meetings between these two teams, dating back to Oct. 22, 1994, the Hurricanes won nine times.

West Virginia has won its past two games. They haven’t lost a game since Nov. 19 when they were dismantled 56-28 by the Oklahoma Sooners.

Miami (Fla.) has won their past four games. They haven’t lost a game since Oct. 29 when they were defeated 30-27 by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Skyler Howard leads the Mountaineers attack with 3,194 passing yards. He has 26 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.

Justin Crawford has 1,168 rushing yards and four touchdowns. Shelton Gibson has 606 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

Brad Kaaya leads the Hurricanes attack with 3,250 passing yards. He has 23 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.

Mark Walton has 1,065 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns. Ahmmon Richards has 866 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
