Bowl Simulation: Switzer scores 2 TD’s as North Carolina beats Stanford

According to our simulation, the North Carolina Tar Heels won the Hyundai Sun Bowl. They defeated the Stanford Cardinal, 31-16, at Sun Bowl Stadium on Friday.

The Cardinal had 444 total yards in 26 minutes and 20 seconds in time of possession. The Tar Heels had 538 total yards in 33 minutes and 40 seconds.

Tar Heels quarterback Mitch Trubisky had 470 yards. He also had three touchdown passes.

T.J. Logan had 61 rushing yards and a touchdown. Jordan Brown had 15 yards.

Ryan Switzer had 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Bug Howard had 88 yards, while Austin Proehl had 68 yards and a touchdown. Mack Hollins had 64 yards and Logan added 57 yards.

Thomas Jackson had two receptions for 22 yards. Carl Tucker had three receptions for 19 yards. Khris Francis had a 17 yard reception and Brandon Fritts had a six yard reception.

Stanford quarterback Ryan Burns had 148 passing yards. Keller Chryst had 88 passing yards.

Bryce Love had a 164 rushing yards, while Cameron Scarlett had 32 yards and a touchdown. Burns added 12 yards, while Pat McFadden and Daniel Marx had three yards each.

Dalton Schultz had 96 receiving yards, while JJ Arcega-Whiteside added 58 yards and Love had 31 yards. Michael Rector had a 28 yard reception and Francis Owusu added a 12 yard reception. Trenton Irwin had three receptions for 11 yards.

Curtis Robinson, Peter Kalambayi and Justin Reid had a sack each for the Cardinal.

Robert Dinkins, Hunter Crafford, Tyler Powell, Donnie Miles and Marlon Dunlap had a sack each for the Tar Heels.

North Carolina had two second half touchdowns. Proehl caught a 37-yard touchdown reception, while Logan scored on a four yard rush.

Stanford had 10 points in the second half. Scarlett scored on a 24 yard run, while Conrad Ukropina made a 24 yard field goal.

North Carolina led 17-6 at halftime. Switzer had two touchdown receptions.

Nick Weiler also made a 31 yard field goal.

Ukronpia made two first half field goals for the Cardinal.
