Green Bay Packers Director of Football Operations Eliot Wolf is expected to interview with the San Francisco 49ers this week. He’s interviewing for the general manager vacancy, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

On Sunday, Jan. 1, the 49ers officially fired their former general manager Trent Baalke, along with their former head coach Chip Kelly. However, reports suggest that Baalke was actually informed that he was fired on Friday, Dec. 30.

Baalke tried to attend the 49ers game with the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. However, he was escorted out of the building and asked to leave the property.

Wolf is also a candidate to replace Ted Thompson, who is the Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations. Thompson is 64-years on Jan. 17, and is reportedly considering retirement.

He is the son of long-time Packers general manager and 2015 Pro Football Hall of Famer Ron Wolf. The son is in his 13th season working for the Packers.

He is in his first season as the Director of Football Operations.
