Game Preview: William Paterson @ TCNJ MBB

On Wednesday night, the William Paterson University Pioneers faces The College of New Jersey men’s basketball coach at Packer Hall. The game is scheduled to start at approx. 8 pm EST.

The Pioneers are 5-7 and the Lions are 7-5. William Paterson is 0-4 on the road and TCNJ is 5-0 at home.

The Lions are 4-1 in New Jersey Athletic Conference play. Their loss came on Dec. 10 when they lost to the New Jersey City Gothic Knights. The Pioneers are 1-4.

This is the first meeting between these two teams since Feb. 13, 2016, when the Pioneers won 83-47. William Paterson has won the last two meetings.

In fact, it’s been three games between each other since either the men’s or women’s Lions basketball team has defeated the Pioneers.

In the past 10 games between these two teams, William Paterson has won nine times. The Lions have won once which came on Feb. 14, 2015, when they won 80-70 at Packer Hall.

William Paterson is averaging 71.4 points per game. TCNJ is averaging 79 points.

TCNJ has lost their past two games. Both losses were by a combined six points. They have not won a game since Dec. 7 when they defeated the Rowan University Profs 87-79 at Packer Hall.

William Paterson won their last game, as they defeated the Eastern University Eagles 76-61. They have not lost since Dec. 29 when they lost 92-70 to the St. Mary’s College of Maryland Seahawks.

Bobby Brackett leads the Lions attack with 16.5 points per game and is also averaging 10.5 rebounds. Eric Murdoch Jr. is averaging 5.8 assists.

Zach Frick leads the Pioneers in scoring with 12.9 points per game. Turell McClendon is averaging 8.3 rebounds and Richy Espinal is averaging 3.0 assists.
