NFL playoffs preview: Detroit @ Seattle

On Saturday night, the Detroit Lions faces the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Wash. The game will be on NBC at 8:15 pm EST.

The Lions are 9-7, while the Seahawks are 10-5. Detroit is 3-5 on the road this season and Seattle is 7-1 at CenturyLink Field.

Their only loss of the season at home came against the Arizona Cardinals when they lost 34-31 on Dec. 24 on a Chandler Catanzaro game-winning field goal.

This is their first meeting since Oct. 5, 2015 when the Seahawks won 13-10.

The Lions have not won in this series since Oct. 28, 2012 when Detroit won 28-24.

In the past 10 meetings between these two teams, Seattle won six times. Besides the Oct. 2015 win, Detroit won 28-20 on Sept. 12, 1999; 17-16 on Nov. 17, 1996 and 30-10 on Oct. 17, 1993.

The Lions are 7-12 in the playoffs. They are; however, 0-8 in the Wild Card Round.

In their last playoff appearance, they lost on Jan. 4, 2015 to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card Round when they lost 24-20.

Detroit has lost their last eight playoff games. They have not won a playoff game since the 1991 Divisional Round when they defeated the Cowboys 38-6 on Jan. 5, 1992.

The Seahawks are 15-14 in the playoffs. They are 7-4 in their previous 11 Wild Card Round games.

Seattle lost their last playoff game when they lost 31-24 to the Carolina Panthers in the Divisional Round.

They last won a playoff game in the Wild Card Round when they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 10-9 when former Vikings kicker Blair Walsh missed a potential game-winning field goal.

Detroit has lost their last three games. They have not won a game since they defeated the Chicago Bears 20-17 on Dec. 11.

Seattle has won their regular season finale on Jan. 1 when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-23. They have not lost a game since Dec. 24 when they lost the aforementioned game to the Cardinals.

Matthew Stafford leads the Lions attack with 4,327 passing yards. He has 24 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions.

Theo Riddick has 357 rushing yards and a touchdown. Golden Tate has 1,077 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

Russell Wilson leads the Seahawks attack with 4,219 passing yards. He has 12 touchdown passes and 11 interceptions.

Christine Michael has 469 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Doug Baldwin has 1,128 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
