Preview: No. 21 Virginia Tech @ North Carolina State

On Wednesday night, the No. 21 Virginia Tech Hokies faces the North Carolina State Wolfpack at PNC Arena in Raleigh, N.C. The game will be on the ACC Network at 9 pm EST.

The Hokies are 12-1 and the Wolfpack are 11-3. Virginia Tech is 1-0 on the road and North Carolina State is 9-0 at home.

This is the first meeting between these two teams since Jan. 2, 2016. The Hokies won 73-68 in overtime in that particular game.

North Carolina State has not won in this series since Feb. 21, 2015 when they won 69-53.

In the past 10 meetings between these two teams, North Carolina State has won six times. Besides the Feb. 21, 2015 win, they also won three straight games from March 4, 2012 to March 14, 2013.

Virginia Tech has won their last eight games, including an upset win 89-75 over the Duke Blue Devils on Dec. 31. They have not lost since Nov. 25, 2016 when they defeated the Texas A&M Aggies 68-65 in the Wooden Legacy.

North Carolina State lost their last game, as they lost 81-63 to the Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes. They have not won a game since Dec. 28, 2016 when they defeated the Rider Broncs 99-71.

The Hokies are averaging 84.2 points per game. The Wolfpack are averaging 83.1 points.

Zach LeDay leads the Hokies with 16.1 points per game. Chris Clarke is averaging 7.9 rebounds and Justin Robinson is averaging 4.6 assists.

Dennis Smith Jr. leads the Wolfpack attack with 19.1 points per game. Abdul Malik Abu is averaging 7.3 rebounds and Smith Jr. is averaging 6.2 assists.
