In a shocking move, the Cal Bears have fired head coach Sonny Dykes. The 47-year-old just completed his fourth season at the school.

He was 19-30 with the Bears. However, he’s 41-45 as a college football head coach as he was previously the Louisiana Tech University Bulldogs head coach.

Former Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly is already being mentioned as his successor. Kelly was fired on Jan. 1 by the 49ers.

Kelly was 2-14 with the 49ers in his lone season with the team. Both wins came against the Los Angeles Rams — who the 49ers have three wins over in their last 19 games.

Prior to taking a job with the Eagles in 2013, he was 46-7 in four years with the Oregon Ducks.
