On Wednesday night, The College of New Jersey’s women’s basketball team faces the Rutgers-Newark Scarlet Raiders at The Golden Dome Arena in Newark, N.J. The game is slated to start at approx. 6 pm EST.
The Lions are 6-7 and the Scarlet Raiders are 5-9. TCNJ is 3-0 on the road and Rutgers-Newark is 0-4 at home.
Rutgers-Newark is 3-4 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. TCNJ is also 3-4 in the conference.
TCNJ won the last meeting on Jan. 30, 2016 when they won 70-63 at Rutgers-Newark. The Lions have won three straight games in this series.
The Scarlet Raiders have not won in this series since Dec. 6, 2014 at The Golden Dome Arena when they won 68-57.
Rutgers-Newark also won Feb. 7, 2012 when they won 62-55, also at Packer Hall.
TCNJ won their last game, as they defeated the Ramapo College of New Jersey Roadrunners 47-42. The Lions have not lost since they were defeated 67-62 to the William Paterson University Pioneers on Jan. 4.
Rutgers-Newark also won their last game, as they defeated the Pioneers 72-64 on Jan. 7. They have not lost a game since being defeated 80-48 to the Richard Stockton University Ospreys on Jan. 4.
TCNJ is scoring 63.4 points per game. They are giving up 61.5 points.
Rutgers-Newark is averaging 57.9 points per game. They are giving up 63.5 points.
Jen Byrne – who has not played since Dec. 7 against the Rowan University Profs – is leading the Lions attack with 12.7 points per game. Charlotte Schum is averaging 8.5 rebounds and Kate O’Leary is averaging 3.4 assists.
Maria Simmons leads the Scarlet Raiders with 16.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Simmons is also averaging 5.8 assists per game.
