Preview: New York @ Boston

On Monday afternoon, the New York Islanders faces the Boston Bruins at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. The game is slated to start at approx. 1 pm on NESN and MSG.

The Islanders are 16-17-5-3 overall and the Bruins are 23-18-4-1. New York is 5-9-3-1 on the road and Boston is 13-8-4-1 at home.

The Bruins has a 77% chance to win this game, according to the Consensus Analysis.

New York won the previous meeting this season. They won 4-2 in Boston on Dec. 20, 2016.

Boston has not won in this series since March 12, 2016 when they won 3-1 in New York.

In the past 10 meetings between these two teams, Boston has won seven times. Besides the Dec. 20, 2016 win, New York also won 3-2 on Oct. 23, 2014 and 5-3 on Sept. 30, 2014.

New York lost their last game, as they were defeated 7-4 by the Carolina Hurricanes on Jan. 14. They have not won a game since a 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Jan. 13.

Boston won their last game, as they defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 6-3 on Jan. 14. They have not lost a game since Jan. 12, 2017 when they were defeated 2-1 by the Nashville Predators.

The Islanders are 1-6 in their previous seven games following a loss when they allowed three or more goals. They are also 1-6 in their previous seven games when they allowed an opponent to score five or more goals in their previous game.

The Bruins are 1-7 in their last eight games following a win. They are also 1-7 in their previous eight games against the Metropolitan Division.
