Former National Football League safety Gerald Sensabaugh Jr. has been named David Crockett High School Pioneers head football coach in Jonesborough, TN. This is his first known coaching job.
Sensabaugh Jr. played with the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2005 to 2008. He then played with the Dallas Cowboys from 2009 to 2012.
The 33-year-old has played in a 102 career games with 84 starts. He had 411 tackles with 2.0 sacks, 35 pass deflections, 14 interceptions and four faced fumbles.
He originally planned to attend East Tennessee State University Buccaneers. However, after East Tennessee State disbanded its football team, he transferred to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
With the Tar Heels, he had four interceptions, five fumble recoveries and three touchdowns. He also tied the NCAA single-game record for blocking three punts in one game.
Prior to attending East Tennessee State, he attended Dobyns-Bennett High School Indians in Kingsport, TN.
