Anderson was injured in a backflip attempt at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. After going up for the jump, he landed on the roof of his truck.

Medical personnel rushed to his aid seconds later after he landed. However, this wasn’t a normal situation, when he would get out of the truck and wave to his fans.

Instead, it took the medical personnel several minutes to get him out.

“Unfortunately, Dennis Anderson sustained an injury during the 7 p.m. performance of Monster Jam on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla.,” Amanda Regan, Monster Jam spokeswoman told The Capital Sports Report. “Medical care professionals tended to Anderson on-site and then transported him to a local hospital for further evaluation. No further updates are available at this time.”

With his injury, there is no timetable for when Anderson will be able to return. The Kill Devils Hill, North Carolina native will have to rely on his other drivers to drive the most recognizable Monster Truck in the Monster Jam.

Anderson has been competing in Monster Trucks since 1982. The 56-year-old has won four Monster Jam World Finals Championships. Three of them were in the racing category, while the other was in freestyle.

“Dad’s been at this for a long time had his fair share of ups and downs,” Son-uva Digger Monster Truck driver Ryan Anderson said in an Instagram post. “There’s one thing that’s for certain he’s never been stopped before. He’s up and moving just gonna have to take it easy for a little while. Can’t wait for him to get home and watch my wild child Race. Can’t keep him down it’s like he’s half man half machine. #terminator”
