On Jan. 20, the Dragon Gate Open The New Year Gate – Day 5 was held at the Nakamura Sports Center in Nagoya, Aichi, Japan. The show began with a six-man tag team match with Big R Shimizu, Don Fujii and Naruki Dom defeating Jimmyz (Genki Horiguchi HAGeeMee, Jimmy Kagetora, and Jimmy Kanda).

Big R Shimizu lost the night before in a six-man tag team match. VerserK (Mondai Ryu, Shingo Takagi, and T-Hawk) defeated Shimizu, Kotoka and Masato Yoshino.

This was the second straight night that the Jimmyz lost. They were defeated by the Tribe Vanguard at the Dragon Gate Open The New Year Gate – Night 4 in Okazaki, Aichi, Japan.

In a single’s match, Masaaki Mochizuki defeated Takehiro Yamamura. This is the second straight night that Mochizuki defeated Yamamura.

Then, in a tag team match, Over Generation (Eita and Gamma) defeated Kotoka and Masato Yoshino.

Over Generation (CIMA and Eita) defeated Don Fujii and Naruki Doi the night before.

To end the show, there was a six-man tag team match. Tribe Vanguard (BxB Hulk, Kzy, and Yamato) defeated VerserK (El Lindaman, Shingo Takagi, and T-Hawk).
