On Saturday afternoon, The College of New Jersey Lions women’s basketball team faces the Kean University Cougars at the Hardwood Arena in Union, N.J. The game is slated to start at approx. 1 pm EST.
The Lions are 8-8 and the Cougars are 10-6. TCNJ is 4-1 on the road and Kean is 6-3 at home.

The Lions lost their first road game of the season on Jan. 18 when they were defeated by the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors.
Kean has not lost a game at home since Dec. 30, 2016 when they lost to the Colby College Mules. They also lost on Dec. 17, 2016 when they were defeated by the Eastern University Eagles.
They also lost on Nov. 22, 2016 to the Montclair State Red Hawks.
Kean is 7-2 within the New Jersey Athletic Conference. TCNJ is 5-5 in conference play.
The Cougars won the last meeting between these two teams. On Dec. 3, 2016, Kean won 58-56 at Packer Hall.
TCNJ has not won in this series since Feb. 17, 2016 when they won 65-62 at Kean.
In the past 10 games between these two teams, the Lions have won seven times. Besides the Dec. 3, 2016 win, they also won 62-48 on Jan. 14, 2015 and 75-65 on Jan. 25, 2014.
TCNJ lost their last game, as they were defeated 69-40 by the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors in the aforementioned loss on Jan. 18. They have not won a game since they defeated No. 8/11 Montclair State Red Hawks 49-40 on Jan. 14.
Kean also lost their last game, as they were defeated by the Red Hawks 75-58 on Jan. 18. They have not won a game since Jan. 14 when they defeated the Richard Stockton University Ospreys 67-59.
TCNJ is averaging 60.8 points per game. They are giving up 59.8 points.
Kean is averaging 68.4 points per game. They are giving up 64.6 points.
Jen Byrne — who is likely out for the season with an injury and has not appeared in a game since Dec. 7, 2016 against the Rowan University Profs — leads the Lions attack with 12.7 points per game. Charlotte Schum is averaging 7.5 rebounds and Kate O’Leary is averaging 3.8 assists.
Jaquetta Owens leads the Cougars attack with 12.7 points per game. De’Mean Bond is averaging 11.2 rebounds and Owens is averaging 6.3 assists.
