Monday Night Raw Cleveland results 1/23/17

In the last Monday Night Raw before the Royal Rumble, Luke Gallows picked up the win over Cesaro to begin the fighting part of the show at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Gallows was tapping out when Cesaro had him in the sharpshooter.

Karl Anderson — previously chased up the ramp — reappeared and attacked Sheamus on the outside. Seconds later, that led to Gallows getting the win.

Sami Zayn defeated Seth Rollins for his opportunity to appear in Sunday’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view. Rollins was irate after Triple H’s music hit, which led to him losing the match.

This is the second straight year that he does not appear in the Royal Rumble. He was not able to compete last year in the match after being injured.

TJ Perkins, Mustafa Ali, and Gentleman Jack Gallagher defeated Ariya Daivari, Drew Gulak, and Tony Nese. Ali pinned Gulack following a reverse 450.

Braun Strowman, Titus O’Neil, Jinder Mahal, and Rusev defeated The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) along with Enzo Amoré and his partner Big Cass. Strowman hit Amoré with a running power slam for the win.

Roman Reigns defeated Chris Jericho via disqualification. Kevin Owens interfered and Reigns was declared the winner.

Owens and Jericho then attacked Reigns, before he got the upper hand and put Owens in the shark cage. Then, hit Jericho with a Superman punch, as he was hanging off of the cage.

Nia Jax easily defeated Rae Lynn. Jax easily got the win, then trolled Sasha Banks, who she attacked on last week’s Raw. Banks came out with a brace on her leg and a crutch.

Jax took multiple crutch shots, and then Banks jumped off the rope with double knees, taking down Jax.

Rich Swann defeated Noam Dar following a wicked kick to Dar’s ear. Then, he called out Neville, who came out to the ring.

The show had a weird ending, as Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker stood down each other, and then the show went off the air.
