Preview: TCNJ @ Rowan MBB

On Wednesday night, The College of New Jersey Lions men’s basketball team faces the Rowan University Profs at Esbjornson Gymnasium in Glassboro, N.J. The game is slated to start at approx. 8 pm EST.

The Lions are 15-5 and the Profs are 12-8. TCNJ is 4-5 on the road and Rowan is 5-2 at home.

On Dec. 10, 2016, the Profs lost 92-78 to the Montclair State Red Hawks. That same week on Dec. 5, they were defeated 116-99 by the Eastern University Eagles.

TCNJ is 11-2 within the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is 7-6 in conference play.

The Lions won the last game between these two teams. On Dec. 7, 2016, TCNJ won 87-79 at Packer Hall.

Rowan has not won a game in this series since Feb. 4, 2015 when they won 69-63 at Packer Hall. They have not won at home since Dec. 10, 2014 when they won 76-59 over the Lions.

In the past 10 games between these two teams, the Profs have won six times. The Lions have won three straight in the series and their other win came on Jan. 8, 2014 when they won 73-70 at Rowan.

The Lions have won seven straight games. It is their longest win streak, according to Interim Senior Associate Director of Athletics — Athletic Communications Mark Gola, since the 1989 season.

They have not lost a game since Jan. 7, 2017 when they were defeated 98-90 by the Ramapo College of New Jersey Roadrunners.

The Profs lost in their last game, as they were defeated 83-77 by the Red Hawks. They have not won a game since Jan. 25, 2017 when they defeated the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors 105-85.

TCNJ is averaging 77.8 points per game. They are giving up 68.6 points.

Rowan is scoring 87.4 points per game. They are giving up 87.6 points.

Bobby Brackett leads the Lions attack with 16.3 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Eric Murdock Jr. is averaging 5.7 assists per game.

Shawn Wilson leads the Profs attack with 19.8 points and six rebounds per game. Rob DePersia is averaging 5.2 assists per game.
