On Wednesday night, The College of New Jersey Lions women’s basketball team faces the Rowan University Profs at the Esbjornson Gymnasium in Glassboro, N.J. The game is slated to start at 6 pm EST.

The Lions are 9-10 and the Profs are 13-7. TCNJ is 4-2 on the road and Rowan is 4-3 at home.

TCNJ is 6-7 within the New Jersey Athletic Conference. Rowan is 7-6 in conference play.

Rowan won the last meeting between these two teams. On Dec. 7, 2016, the Profs won 65-58 at Packer Hall.

The College of New Jersey has not won in this series since February 4, 2015 when they won 57-48 at Packer Hall. They have not won at Rowan since Jan. 8, 2014 when they won 81-57.

In the past 10 games between these two teams, the Lions have won six times. Besides the Dec. 7, 2016 win, the Profs also won 87-66 on Feb. 3, 2016; 74-46 on Dec. 9, 2015 and 79-61 on Dec. 10, 2014.

TCNJ won their last game, as they defeated the New Jersey City University Gothic Knights on Saturday afternoon. They have not lost a game since Jan. 25, 2017 when they were defeated 68-59 by the Stockton University Ospreys.

Rowan has lost their previous three games. They have not won a game since Jan. 18, 2017 when they defeated the Ospreys 62-46.

The Lions are scoring 60.9 points per game. They are giving up 59.9 points.

The Profs are averaging 77.6 points per game. They are giving up 67.9 points.

TCNJ will be without their top two scorers. Jen Byrne is done for the season, while Nikki Schott may return later in the season.

Byrne — who has not played in a game since Dec. 7, 2016 against the Profs — leads the Lions attack with 12.7 points per game. Among the active players, Chiara Palombi is averaging 8.3 points per game.

Charlotte Schum is averaging 8.0 rebounds and Kate O’Leary is averaging 4.0 assists.

Anyssa Sanchez leads the Profs attack with 18.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Valerie Garofalo is averaging 4.5 assists per game.
