Heisman finalist Baker Mayfiend was arrested early Saturday morning, according to media reports. The Oklahoma Sooners quarterback was arrested in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He has been charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fleeing. He was book at 9:21 am EST, according to the Washington County (Ark.) sheriff’s office.
He has an April 7 court date for the public intoxication charge.
In December, he announced that he would return to Norman, Okla. for his senior season. Mayfield finished third in the 2016 Heisman standings. He had 361 points winner Lamar Jackson (2,144) and DeShaun Watson (1,524).
Mayfield had 3,965 passing yards with 40 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 13 games.
