Corey LaJoie caused the first caution at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida at the Daytona 500. LaJoie crashed into the wall during the first stage.
He was initially at the back of the field and was trying to go into pit lane. However, instead of going to speed limit, he was going exceedingly fast.
The 25-year-old then re-directed his car back onto the track and crashed into the wall. He was then able to drive his car back onto pit lane to get it fixed.
NASCAR has a new damaged vehicle policy and once he went to the pit stop, the clock started for five minutes. They will have to fix it in pit lane before he’s allowed back on the track.
