The Golden State Warriors are not letting the Cleveland Cavaliers sign all the recently bought out players. The Warriors had planned to just add José Calderón.
However, the team is going to release Calderón. With the new roster spot, the Warriors are going to sign Matt Barnes.
The news broke early Wednesday morning after Kevin Durant was injured in his return to his hometown in Washington, D.C. It’s not clear how long Durant will be out if at all.
Barnes became available once he was released by the Sacramento Kings following the DeMarcus Cousins trade. The Kings had to create a roster spot — which was Barnes — in order to have enough space to add the three guards that they had acquired for Cousins from the New Orleans Pelicans
