The New England Patriots have gotten into the mix for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Brandin Cooks. They have reportedly offered the 32nd overall pick, the final pick in the first round, to the Saints.
If they were able to acquire him, he’ll take the place of Danny Amendola. The team is not expected to bring him back.
The Saints were talking to the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tennessee Titans about Cooks. They were looking for a second-round pick for Cooks — and the Eagles are the only team between these two, who has a second-round pick.
And they offered the No. 42 overall pick to the Saints for Cooks. It appeared that Cooks was destined for Philadelphia, but now this news changes everything.
Cooks is in the final year of his rookie deal. Wherever he goes, he’ll want to sign a massive new contract.
