According to the Dallas Cowboys, they believe that once they release Tony Romo, he will not sign with the Washington Redskins. Romo has been linked to their division rival should hey decide to move on from Kirk Cousins.

“It is implied that we will work in the best way we can for the mutual interest of Tony and the Cowboys,” Owner Jerry Jones said.

On Friday, there was a speculated three-team deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Cousins would move on to the San Francisco 49ers.

Romo would land with the Redskins, while the Cowboys would receive multiple draft picks.

Also, on Friday, the Washington Post reported that the Redskins have no interest in Romo. While Romo may be out of the picture for the Redskins, the Denver Broncos and the Buffalo Bills are reportedly interested.
