The Philadelphia Eagles have been strapped for cap space before the start of free agency. According to the National Football League, they had $2.2 million going into free agency.
The Eagles have released defensive end Connor Barwin. The cost-cutting move will save the team $7.75 million.
The 30-year-old Barwin has spent the past four-years with the team. After playing linebacker his entire career, he switched to defensive end last season in Jim Schwartz’s scheme.
