Former Michigan Wolverines cornerback Jourdan Lewis is facing a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his girlfriend, who is 20-years-old.
The law enforcement authorities found Lewis and his girlfriend after they were responding to an incident early Wednesday morning.
“It wasn’t clear to the officers if there was an assault, or who the aggressor was,” said Ann Arbor police Detective Lt. Matthew Lige, according to the Detroit News.
At this time, an arraignment has not been scheduled.
Lewis is available to be drafted in the 2017 NFL Draft. He is projected to be a Day 2 pick to go in the third round.
Depending on how this progresses, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell could hand down a fine or even suspension. He has ruled with an iron hand — and has handed down a lot of punishments since he became commissioner.
