For the first-time this season, Eddie Krawiec leads as the provisional No. 1 Pro Stock Motorcycle qualifier at the 48th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida. Krawiec took his Screamin’ Eagle Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson to the top spot following his 6.791 at 198.17 mph pass.

On Friday, it was the first two qualifying sessions of PSM on the season.

“To come off the trailer and to set the pace, like that, it kind of sets your trend for the weekend,” Krawiec said. “We knew we had fast Harleys — we just had to continue to work on the setup.

“Our main focus was come here, unload off the truck, get a solid run, get qualified, get in the show and then start working.”

Lucas Oil-sponsored driver Hector Arana Sr. is in the second spot. He took his Buell down the track at 6.813 at 197.02 mph.

LE Tonglet took his Nitro Fish Racing Suzuki to the third position. He went 6.819 at 196.59 mph.

Hector Arana Jr., who is also sponsored by Lucas Oil, like his father, is the fourth qualifier. He went 6.828 at 195.42 mph.

Jerry Savoie — who won last year’s Pro Stock Motorcycle Championship — is the fifth qualifier. He took his White Alligator Racing Suzuki down the track at 6.830 at 197.65 mph.
