“The Class as a whole as picked up a fair amount of power over the off-season,” he said. “We’re certainly much faster than we were last year at this time.

“It felt like we could go that fast, maybe a little bit faster. Nonetheless, saying it is one thing, but doing it is another, so we did it. It was a good day.”

Line took the provisional top spot from his KB Racing teammate Bo Butner III. The Jim Butner’s Auto Chevy Camaro driver went 6.477 at 213.60 mph for the second spot.

Erica Enders-Stevens — who is a two-time champion — is the third qualifier. She drove her Elite Motorsports Chevy Camaro to a 6.490 at 214.01 mph.

Enders-Stevens’ teammate Jeg Coughlin Jr. qualified fourth. He went 6.491 at 214.59 in his Elite Motorsports Chevy Camaro.

Greg Anderson rounded out the Top five — and the third KB Racing car in the top five spots. Anderson went 6.491 at 214.59 in his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro.
