Tony Schumacher is the provisional No. 1 Top Fuel qualifier in his U.S. Army Racing Dragster. The eight-time champion went 3.682 at 328.22 mph in his second qualifying pass on Friday from the 48th annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway in Gainesville, Florida.

“I think that was a good quality run,” he said. “It’ll stay in the top couple if nothing else. I’m proud of my team they did a great job to do what it took to get down the race track and at least for Friday night hold that No. 1 spot.”

Steve Torrence took his Capco Contractors dragster down the track at 3.726 at 327.51 mph. He’s presently the fifth-qualified dragster.
