According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, UCLA head coach Steve Alford has put the Indiana Hoosiers rumors to rest. He will not be taking the job.
It had been speculated that Alford would take the job. However, with this news early Saturday morning, they’re going to be going in a different direction to replace Tom Crean.
The Hoosiers were 18-16 this season. They were the 11th ranked team in the Associated Press preseason poll.
They got as high as the third-ranked during the season.
Crean was 166-135 in nine-years at the school. Alford is 96-44 in the last four-years in Westwood.
The Bruins were 31-4 this season. Their season came to an end in the Sweet 16 to the Kentucky Wildcats.
