According to the Dallas Morning News, the Texas Rangers have recently scouted Wily Peralta. They may be interested in making a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers to acquire the right-handed pitcher.
The Rangers have a need in upgrading their starting rotation – and Peralta would definitely help, if they could add him. He has pitched well this spring in the Catcus League.
The 27-year-old will make $4.28 million this season. He’s also under the team’s control through the 2021 season before becoming a free agent.
Last season, he had a 7-11 record with the Brewers. He also had a 4.86 ERA with 93 strikeouts and 43 walks in 127 2/3 innings.
In addition, he went 1-3 in 10 starts at Colorado Springs at the Triple-A level in 2016. He had a 6.315 ERA with 39 strikeouts and 17 walks in 41 1/3 innings.
