The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired outfielder Peter Bourjos. In exchange for the veteran, the Chicago White Sox are receiving cash considerations.
Bourjos gives the Rays a right-handed outfielder. He is capable of playing all three outfield positions.
He’ll be 30-years-old later this week. He had a .251 batting average with five home runs and 23 RBI’s in a 123 games with the Philadelphia Phillies last season.
Bourjos had signed a minor league deal with the White Sox on January 27.
He returns to the American League, where he last played in 2013 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He spent the past three seasons in the National League.
