Monday Night Raw took place from the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The show’s fighting part began with The Hardy Boyz facing The Club (Gallows and Anderson) for the Raw Tag Team Championship, which The Hardy Boyz won on Sunday night.
The Hardy Boyz retained their new belts with the Extreme Combination for the win.
Neville then defeated Mustafa Ali. Ali put up a good effort, including several high-flying moves. However, Neville got the win with the Rings of Saturn submission, as Ali tapped out.
Vince McMahon then came out to the ring. He wanted to Thank the WWE Universe for being the most passionate fans.
He announced there’s going to be a shake up next week. However, he did not mention a draft that many have been speculating would happen for quite some time.
Teddy Long thought he was going t be the next Raw general manager when McMahon announced a new general manager. Instead, McMahon announced that newly minted Hall of Famer Kurt Angle would be the new general manager. Long was also in the Class of 2017 with Angle.
Angle then said it’s good to be back on Monday Night Raw. It’s true. It’s damn true.
The New Day issued an open challenge to any tag team in the locker room. The Revival answered the call.
Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson, the two-time NXT Tag Team Champions, faced Big E and Xavier Woods. The Revival got the win with a pin on Woods. Then, they attacked Kofi Kingston, who was favoring his ankle after a move.
Bayley, Dana Brooke and Sasha Banks then defeated Emma, Nia Jax and Charlotte Flair. Banks made Flair tap out with the Bank Statement.
After the match, Flair had a meltdown and targeted Jax. That was a bad decision, as Jax went off on Flair and left as the only woman standing.
Jax tried to show Flair that she is not a person to be messed with.
Paul Heyman wanted Brock Lesnar to face Roman Reigns. However, he got the Monster Braun Strowman instead.
But then Strowman walked away. This is becoming a trend for him, as he has backed out of competition from other competitors on Raw.
Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Enzo Amore and Big Cass to become the new No. 1 contenders for the Tag Team Championship belts. Cesaro and Sheamus got the win, as Cesaro hit Amore with an uppercut, before getting the pin.
Sami Zayn defeated Jinder Mahal. Zayn got the win with the Helluva Kick.
Then, in the final bout, Finn Bálor and Seth Rollins defeated Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe. Bálor, who returned to in-ring action for the first-time since August 2016, used the Coupe de Grace on Owens for the win.
