The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward Sean Malone to a two-year deal. It’s an entry-level deal.
Malone recently completed his senior season at Harvard University before losing in the Frozen Four. The Crimson lost 2-1 to the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on Thursday.
He was third on the team with 42 points. Malone had 18 goals with 27 assists in 36 games.
In his collegiate career, he had 42 goals and 57 assists for 99 points in a 115 games. He also had a plus-31 rating.
Malone was drafted by the Sabres with the 159th overall pick in the sixth-round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He was named to the All-ECAC Tournament this season.
As a freshman, he was named the Ivy League’s Co-Rookie of the Year.
