Thomas becomes a 49er

The San Francisco 49ers needed defensive help. With the second overall pick, it appeared like Solomon Thomas was excited to become a 49er.

However, the 49ers traded down to the Chicago Bears. The 49ers added picks, but they were still able to get their guy: Thomas.Solomon+Thomas+102nd+Rose+Bowl+Game+Iowa+v+T2mIA2SV0Gix

Thomas will bolster their pass rush. As a junior, he had 61 tackles, including 14 tackles for a loss. He also had 8.5 sacks.

The former Cardinal also forced a fumble and had two fumble recoveries.

He only played two season with the Cardinal. In 26 games, he had 98 tackles, including 24.5 tackles for a loss. He also had 12 sacks.

Thomas had four fumble recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown. He also had a forced fumble.
