Like many rookies, Foster may have to showcase his talents in practice to show that he deserves a starting spot. This may happen early on to begin the season, or it may happen later in the season.
In 2016, in his final season with the Crimson Tide, he had 115 tackles in 15 games. He also had 13 tackles for a loss and 5.0 sacks.
He also had two pass deflections. Foster was also named an All-American for his performances.
The 115 tackles and 5.0 sacks were the most that he had in a season with the Crimson Tide.
Foster is joining a team that went 2-14 under first-year head coach Chip Kelly. After the season, Kelly was fired.
