Recently, ESPN laid off more than 100 employees. Yet, they continue to add people to their roster and even re-signing some of their own.

On Friday morning, the company announced that they have signed former college football and NFL head coach Chip Kelly to a multi-year deal. Financial terms of the agreement were not discussed.

The Worldwide Leader in Sports did not say what responsibility Kelly would have. He could serve as a college football analyst for their in-studio and college football games.

Kelly may even be used for their NFL coverage, depending on what his bosses want him to do.

Kelly was available to join ESPN after being fired from the San Francisco 49ers after one season in 2016. He also spent three seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles’ head coach from 2013 through 2015.

As an NFL head coach, Kelly was 28-35. He went 2-14 as the 49ers head coach.

He went 26-21 as the Eagles head coach. He had back-to-back 10-6 win seasons in 2013 and 2014, before the team regressed to a 6-9 mark in 2015.

Before entering the NFL as a head coach, Kelly was a head coach with the Oregon Ducks. He went 46-7 in four seasons in Eugene, Oregon.

In just his second season, Kelly guided the Ducks to the BCS National Championship game, before losing to the Auburn Tigers.
