PGA golfer Tiger Woods was arrested early Monday morning for DUI. This is his second-known DUI in his life.
Woods was arrested at 3 am on the Military Trail south of Indian Creek Parkway, according to WPTV. He hasn’t played on the PGA Tour since Feb.
He has struggled in the past few years with a bad back. He had fusion surgery on April 19 on his back — which is his fourth procedure on his back since April 2014. He will not play again on the PGA Tour again this season.
He’s only made three starts in the past two years on the PGA Tour. On Feb. 3, he withdrew from the Dubai Desert Classic after having an opening 73.
Woods is a 14-time majors champion and has 79 career PGA Tour wins. He has the second-most wins of all-time.
“As for returning to competitive golf, the long-term prognosis is positive,” he wrote on his website last week. “My surgeon and physiotherapist say the operation was successful. It’s just a matter of now screwing up and letting it fuse. I’m walking and doing my exercises, and taking my kids to and from school. All I can do is take it day-by-day. There’s no hurry.
“But, I want to say unequivocally, I want to play professional golf again. Presently, I’m not looking ahead. I can’t twist for another two-and-a-half to three months. Right my, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”
We hate to admit it, but Woods appears to be a lost soul as his career has come to an end despite his recent remarks. With so much money that he has, he could have had a car service come get him – or even a Lyft or an Uber.
He fell from grace following his first DUI about a decade ago. The 41-year-old saw his life unravel – and a divorce with his former wife Elin Nordegren in 2010.
We’re not saying that he has had another affair. But it’s worth noting his past.
Things started to come apart for him when The National Enquirer had published a story on Nov. 25, 2009 that claimed he had an affair with Rachel Uchitel. Two days later, he was arrested for DUI after he left his house on Nov. 27 in his Cadillac Escalade hit a fire hydrant, a tree and several hedges.
He suffered minor injuries in the accident – while being ticketed for careless driving.
In the media firestorm afterwards, the media went after Woods, who claimed he left voicemails with dozens of women. Then, on Dec. 11, he admitted to infidelity and apologized again – and even took a break from golf at the time.
