Coughlin holds Etown Pro Mod top spot

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — Troy Coughlin is last year’s winner of the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. Coughlin is the Friday night provisional No. 1 qualifier of the NHRA J&A Services Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.

This event is the sixth of the 12 events that the Pro Mods race in around the country. He went 5.772 at 257.53 mph in his JEGS Mail Order ’15 Corvette.

“It’s pretty exciting to be No. 1, especially in this field of cars that’s here in the J&A Pro Mod Series,” Coughlin stated. “To be No. 1 is pretty stout. We’re pretty excited. The last couple races have been kind of tough. We work on this thing all the time – there’s a lot of labor, a lot of passion, a lot of love for this sport and it shows.”

Shane Molinari is the second qualifier in his Pontiac Firebiard with a 5.781 at 258.42 mph. Steven Whiteley is presently third with his Cadillac CTS-V after going 5.795 at 251.72 mph.

Bob Rahaim, who is piloting a Chevy Camaro, is presently fourth with a 5.796 at 249.86 mph. Carl Stevens is the fifth qualifier at 5.813 at 257.97 mph.
