ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — LE Tonglet is the provisional No. 1 qualifier from the 48th annual NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. He took his Pro Stock Motorcycle down the track at 6.800 at 195.62 mph in his Nitro Fish Racing Suzuki.

Tonglet picked up the provisional top spot on his second pass of the day. Should he keep the No. 1 qualifier after tomorrow’s two passes, it will be the fourth of his career — and the first-time this season.

“The success comes from my racing team, and to be able to be a part of a championship race team means a lot to me,” he said. “It’s been a while since we have qualified No. 1, so we are going to do whatever we can to make sure we stay in that spot tomorrow.”

Hector Arana Jr. in his Lucas Oil Buell ran a 6.810 at 196.36 mph. His father Hector Arana Sr. was the third qualifier at 6.823 at 197.77 mph.

Scotty Pollacheck in his Suzuki went 6.847 at 192.96 mph. Rookie Joey Gladstone took his Suzuki down the track at 6.848 at 194.52 mph.
