Force leads the Etown Funny Car field

ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — Advance Auto Parts pilot Courtney Force is the Funny Car No. 1 qualifier at the 48th annual NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. She captured the No. 1 spot on Friday night in her second pass.

Force went 3.862 at 331.12 mph to get the top spot. This is her first No. 1 qualifier since Atlanta — and the fifth of her season.

Fellow John Force Racing teammate Robert Hight is the No. 2 qualifier. He went 3.880 at 332.43 mph.

Reigning Funny Car champion Ron Capps is the No. 3 qualifier. He went 3.883 at 329.67 mph.

Jack Beckman, the Infinite Hero Foundation pilot, is the No. 4 qualifier. He went 3.907 at 328.30 mph.

Cruz Pedregon — the Snap-On Funny Car pilot — qualified in the top-half of the field. Pedregon with his tuner Aaron Brooks went 3.915 at 326.32 mph.

This the same top five as it was on Friday night.
