ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — May 2011. That was the last-time LE Tonglet was the Pro Stock Motorcycle No. 1 qualifier, which happened at Atlanta Dragway.
But that six-years of struggling to be the top qualifier has ended on Saturday night. He got the No. 1 qualifier with a 6.800 at 195.62 mph run.
Lucas Oil Buell driver Hector Arana Jr. is the No. 2 qualifier with a 6.801 at 196.07 mph. His father, Hector Arana Sr., is in the third position with a 6.823 at 196.67 mph run.
Jerry Savoie — who is teammates with Tonglet on the White Alligator Racing team, which was formed in the off-season — is the No. 4 qualifier. He had a 6.828 at 194.80 mph pass.
Scotty Pollacheck — who is the only West Coast in the Top 5 — is the No. 5 qualifier with his 6.847 at 192.96 mph run. Pollacheck is from Central Point, Oregon, while Tonglet and Savoie are from Louisiana and the Arana’s are from Indiana.
