ENGLISHTOWN, NJ — Rickie Smith, who returned this weekend after an absence, has won the NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. The multiple-time champion defeated Troy Coughlin in the final round.

Prior to this race, Smith was 8-7 against Coughlin. Each had a win against each other in the final round.

Smith had the startling line advantage despite a pre-stage staging dual. He got the hole shot win over Coughlin.

Smith won by 0.0137 mph, or approx. 5 feet. This is Smith’s first Wally of the season — but only his second race this season.

He has 11 career Wally’s.
