According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the New England Patriots have given strong safety Pat Chung $800K in incentives this season. He had already made $900K in incentives following his one-year agreement worth $5.7 million through 2018 this past April.

This appears like a move that’s both rewarding and motivating Chung to keep up the good work. He started 14 of 15 games last season.

Chung was a major factor in the Bill Belichick defense in their Super Bowl winning run against opposing tight ends. The 29-year-old, who has spent nearly his entire career with the Patriots, he had 91 tackles with a sack, an interception and three pass deflections.

He also has a punt return for seven yards.
