Now, with the Coyotes looking for a new head coach, their overhaul continues. They will start looking for a head coach immediately.
“On behalf of the entire organization, I would like to sincerely thank Tip for all of his hard work and the many contributions he made to our organizations,” Coyotes owner Andrew Barroway said. “Tip is a man of high character and we are very grateful for his leadership during his tenure as our head coach. Ultimately, we have some philosophical differences on how to build our team. Therefore, we mutually agreed that it is in everyone’s best interest to have a coaching change in order to move our franchise forward.”
Tippett, who has been an NHL head coach since 2002-03 with the Dallas Stars, has been the Coyotes head coach dating back to the Phoenix Coyotes days in 2009-10. He was 193-126-57 as the Phoenix Coyotes head coach.
However, since they became the Arizona Coyotes, the team has only won 89 games and lost a 131 games and 26 overtime losses.
“After some thoughtful discussions with Andy, we both agreed that it was best for me to move on,” Tippett said. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Coyotes and wish Andy and the entire organization all the best in the future.”
