Asdrúbal Cabrera has requested a trade from the New York Mets. Instead of being a part of a struggling team, he wants to be traded to a playoff contender.

He made his request known prior to the Mets game with the San Francisco Giants. He’s asking his agent to help with his move.

“I’m not happy,” Cabrera said. “I told them I am not happy.”

He was scheduled to bat second and play second base. Cabrera does not want to play second base.

When he signed with the team in late 2015, he said he was only going to play shortstop for the team. He’s going to be a free agent at the end of this season.

The team also declined his 2018 option.
