The Utah Jazz have re-signed guard Joe Ingles. He is staying put with a four-year, $52 million deal.

This is an attempt to keep Gordon Hayward in Utah despite several teams interested in signing him. Ingles is one of Hayward’s closest friends on the team.

In addition, they are both represented by Mark Bartelstein at Priority Sports.

Ingles is expected to receive $13 million per season in this deal. It’s a huge jump for a player, who spent eight-years overseas.

Hayward is one of the key free agents on the open market. He met with the Miami Heat on Saturday and is scheduled to meet with the Boston Celtics on Sunday.

This past season, Ingles averaged 7.1 points for the Jazz, who went to the Western Conference semifinals before being eliminated by the Golden State Warriors.

This is the second move for the Jazz. They traded for Ricky Rubio on Friday — and they hope that this appeals to Hayward.
