The Toronto Raptors have made a salary dump with the Brooklyn Nets. The Raptors traded away DeMarre Carroll, along with a 2018 first-round and second-round pick to the Nets.
In exchange for the Nets taking on Carroll, the Raptors are getting Justin Hamilton. This move clears Toronto from being responsible of paying Carroll $30 million over the next two seasons.
The Raptors were trying to trade Carroll for quite some time. Norman Powell is expected to take over for Carroll, who is expected to receive limited minutes with the Nets, as they play younger players.

The 30-year-old Carroll will be going to his seventh team in his career. The longest he spent for a team in his career is two-years.
This past season with the Raptors, he averaged 8.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks in 72 games, all starts. In his Raptors career, he averaged 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.3 blocks in 98 games, including 94 starts.
Hamilton, 27, is also a journey man like Carroll, as he’ll now be on his fifth team in his career. However, with the Nets last season, it was his most successful stint in the NBA after stints with the Charlotte Hornets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat and the Nets.

Last season, Hamilton averaged 6.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.7 blocks in 64 games, including seven starts for the Nets.
