The Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Aaron Altherr was forced to leave Friday night’s game. He suffered an apparent leg injury against the Milwaukee Brewers.

He doubled in the fifth inning. As he was approaching second base, he came up lame and the team decided to take him out.

If he’s going to miss an extended period of time, it’s going to be a huge blow for the team. He’s been one of the bright spots despite being one of the worst teams in baseball.

The 26-year-old was 2-for-3 in the game. He had two doubles and a run scored before exiting.

This season in 78 games, Altherr has a .284 batting average with 14 home runs and 44 RBIs. He also has 18 doubles and three triples.

The Phillies should be updating his condition following the game that’s presently ongoing.

Altherr, who was the lead-off hitter, was 2-3 before his departure with his injury. He was replaced in the game by Cameron Perkins as a pinch runner.

We do not know yet if he will just be the pinch runner and then go to the bench. Or remain in the game in Altherr’s position.

If Perkins is not the replacement, then manager Pete Mackanin will have to figure out his lineup for the rest of the game.
